IT Project Manager
We are looking for an IT project manager to join our growing team in Colorado. Our IT project manager must possess a variety of experience in ERP business applications implementation, architectural design and strategic business alignment. Our IT project manager delivers IT and business process improvement projects, executing activities such as project planning, scheduling, cost and benefit estimation, cost tracking and risk assessment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are planned appropriately and follow corporate prescribed processes, including monitored project management processes. You are responsible for ensuring a quality product is delivered and that business acumen compliance is achieved. You must also ensure that the projects are delivered on time, on budget and on scope.
We need someone who plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the duties involved personally or through subordinate supervisors. This project manager role will primarily be responsible for managing scope, budget and duration of software consulting projects. This position involves working in an organization spanning across domestic and international locations. The position involves use of core project management skills including organizational change management, communications management, change management and risk management.
Essential Functions:
- Providing strong program and project leadership by adhering to standard departmental policies, processes and documentation guidelines for project delivery
- Defining and communicating roles and responsibilities for project team members – functional and technical
- Developing project plans including detailing work breakdown structures and critical path
- Working with customers and technical resources to develop project schedule and detailed cost breakdowns
- Managing program/project budget
- Performing risk management planning, risk identification and mitigation planning
- Ensuring sign-off on all major system deliverables by stakeholders
- Developing communication strategies and leading communications with senior executives and key stakeholders globally
- Monitoring and reporting on schedule and budget variances
- Ensuring quality delivery of team member tasks in accordance to the plan
- On-time delivery of projects on or before due date. On-budget delivery +/- 10%
- Must have extremely strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have proven track record of leading teams and projects
- Requires strong analytical, problem solving, and action-driven competencies
- Should also have strong business process analysis and improvement experience since this will likely be a “hands-on” PM role
- Experience and interest managing all aspects of a successful IT project, from the technical side to the softer side of OCM
- Should be comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment
- Comfortable with 40-50% travel
Minimum Requirements:
- Training/working in a PMP environment acceptable
- 2+ years of IT/software project delivery
- Must have successfully led enterprise system implementations on a regional or global scale (ex. ERP, HR, Financials)
- Must have experience using Project Management Software
- Bachelor Degree required
