Mark Two Distributors Flushes Away the Competition With Innovative Customer Service Offerings Using SAP Business All-in-One Solution

SAP NEWSBYTE – March 22, 2010 – Mark Two Distributors, a leading UK kitchen and bath distributor, has boosted sales and achieved competitive advantage with its innovative methods of offering customers a better buying experience.

Seeing an opportunity to sell its products online, the distributor used the SAP® Business All-in-One solution from SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) to develop custom-designed microsites for its individual retailer partners. Developed and maintained by Mark Two, the microsites enable would-be buyers to view product images and descriptions, receive accurate data about product availability, request expert help via e-mail or phone or track existing orders in near-real time.

The innovation has kept flowing; When Mark Two needed to improve home delivery, its IT team used SAP technology to develop a superior delivery mechanism whereby consumers can request specific delivery dates, track the status of their orders and make changes. In addition, Mark Two’s logistics managers are able to view current, accurate information on home deliveries on their mobile phones.

“We’ve become so well known in the marketplace that other large retailers are making approaches,” said Alan Howe, commercial director, Mark Two Distributors Ltd. “That’s a testimony to the service we’re giving to our existing customers.”

Mark Two’s investment into customer service was noticed by the UK business community. The distributor was awarded “Best Use of Technology in Customer Service” at the National Customer Services Awards in London on December 9, 2009.
