SAP Positioned in Leaders Quadrant for Marketing Resource Management

SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Marketing Resource Management (MRM) report. SAP was recognized as a leader based on its “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute.”

Gartner defines MRM as a set of processes and capabilities designed to enhance a company’s ability to orchestrate and optimize internal and external marketing resources. According to the report, “MRM applications enable companies to:

  • Plan and budget for marketing activities and programs (strategic planning and financial management).
  • Create and develop marketing programs and content (creative production management).
  • Collect and manage content and knowledge (digital asset, content and knowledge management).
  • Fulfill and distribute marketing assets, content and collateral (marketing fulfillment).
  • Measure, analyze and optimize marketing performance (MRM analytics).”1

According to Gartner, MRM is “expanding within organizations in three ways (1) global expansion, (2) increase in number of users within a region and (3) broadening MRM capabilities across the five areas of MRM competencies. Gartner also sees MRM moving firmly into the midmarket, with more midmarket organizations adopting MRM, particularly the SaaS and hosted deployment options.”1

“Our goal is to help companies deliver a consistent customer experience across all touch points and meet the demands of increasingly savvy customers,” said Anthony Leaper, senior vice president and general manager, Line of Business Customer Solutions, SAP. “The path to delivering a better customer experience often starts with marketing. SAP software helps companies boost customer loyalty while making the most of marketing resources such as budgets, people, time and the brand — with better segmentation, personalized offers and collaboration to optimize all marketing activities.”

Part of SAP Business Suite software, the SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) application enables companies to provide excellent customer experiences and maximize the effectiveness of every customer interaction across sales, marketing, service, finance, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing and human resources.

Leading Analyst Firm Positions Oracle ATG in Leaders Quadrant for E-Commerce

The 2011 Gartner “Magic Quadrant for E-commerce” places Oracle ATG in the Leaders Quadrant. Gartner Magic Quadrants position vendors within a particular market segment based on their completeness of vision and their ability to execute on that vision.

According to Gartner, “The Leaders quadrant contains technology providers that demonstrate the optimal blend of insight, innovation, execution and the ability to “see around the corner.” These providers lead the market in e-commerce by consistently demonstrating their understanding of emerging technologies, such as social and mobile capabilities, combined with an understanding of globalization. These technology providers offer products that cover core e-commerce capabilities as well as innovative capabilities, and are consistently on clients’ “longlists” and shortlists of e-commerce evaluations. Leaders have a record of winning these accounts and delivering customer satisfaction, strong support and professional services, leading to the implementation of a successful e-commerce site. These Leaders also have demonstrated longevity in the e-commerce market, as well as a commitment to new product innovations for Internet sales. In addition, they represent technology providers with the strongest capability to meet Internet B2B and B2C selling requirements.”

The report continues, “technology providers in the Leaders quadrant have demonstrated consistent, extensive and durable execution in delivering e-commerce websites at the enterprise level. In addition, the maturity of this market demands that leaders maintain a strong vision regarding the key points that have emerged during the past year, including globalization, mobile e-commerce, social commerce, multiple deployment options and multisite management; the capability to support B2C, B2B and B2B2C selling models; integration with multiple points of interaction, such as mobile, call centers and stores; and support for overall sales, service and marketing in an e-commerce context.”

Oracle ATG Web Commerce Suite offers a comprehensive and scalable commerce software platform that helps deliver a personalized customer buying experience across multiple customer touchpoints, including the web, contact center, mobile devices, social media, and physical stores.

“As customers engage via mobile, online and in-store environments, Oracle’s solutions help consumer-facing businesses to deliver a fluid, personalized customer experience across all channels,” said Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail. “We believe Gartner’s recognition of Oracle ATG in the Leaders Quadrant underscores our achievements in providing an easy-to-use commerce platform that accommodates an array of channels while enabling the highest performance and scalability for the most demanding consumer and B2B environments.”

Gartner, Inc.’s 2011 “Magic Quadrant for Integrated Revenue and Customer Management for CSPs” report positions Oracle in the Leaders Quadrant. Gartner Magic Quadrants position vendors within a particular segment based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute on that vision. The report evaluates the capabilities of vendors that offer comprehensive, end-to-end solutions globally for billing, charging, mediation and policy management – referred to in the report as integrated revenue and customer management (IRCM).

For completeness of vision, Gartner Magic Quadrants evaluate “IRCM vendors on their ability to convincingly communicate their current and future market direction, innovation, customer needs and competitive forces, and on how well those statements map to Gartner research positions.”

Regarding ability to execute, Gartner Magic Quadrants evaluate “IRCM vendors on the quality and efficiency of the processes, systems, methods or procedures that enable their performance to be competitive, efficient and effective and to positively affect revenue, retention and reputation.”

Gartner notes that “Leaders are vendors that would normally be included in shortlists for IRCM solutions for large and midsize CSPs (communications service providers) worldwide. They perform profitably, grow their revenue and have a presence in all major markets. Their functionality is above average, and their technology and scalability are leading edge. Leaders also engage in innovative projects and activities, carefully listening to their customer base. They are also engaged in understanding the underlying and emerging patterns/trends in revenue and customer management activities, and direct their R&D resources and investments accordingly.”

We believe that our inclusion in the Leaders Quadrant in this Gartner Magic Quadrant report recognizes Oracle’s commitment to providing open, integrated solutions for billing and customer relationship management that enable CSPs to thrive as mobile technology continues to evolve,” said Liam Maxwell, vice president, products, Oracle Communications.

Cincom Acquire® is a knowledge-based software platform designed to help companies sell complex products and services. “Receiving recognition by Gartner in the CPQ market is an important event for us,” said Jerry Miller, Managing Director of Cincom’s Intelligent Selling Solutions division. “More important is that we believe Gartner’s evaluation re-affirms our commitment to deliver real business value for our customers through our quality products and people around the world.”

Cincom Acquire helps manufacturers selling complex engineer-to-order or configure-to-order products increase their top-line revenue by streamlining their sales, design and proposal processes.
